The impact of the lockdown

“The world stopped and we had to get off it” said a famous journalist on social

network. The lockdown began and our reality; regardless of social classes or

ideologies, changed. We faced a new normal from our home and that abrupt

change in our routine had an impact on us and in many cases made us feel

anxious and with uncertainty of not knowing what is going to happen.

Uncertainty was my biggest rival in this lockdown. I used to have a rhythm of

life that I had to replace. I felt like my old routine was an old photograph dusted

from an album and whitened away because I had lost control of knowing if I was

going to be able to do activities the next day or if my family or friends were

going to be well. It was a difficult situation but I got ahead.

The pandemic put the world on alert. We were all locked up. The parks

emptied. The streets were silent and long and empty. But the doors of the family

were opened. We all carry this lockdown the best way we can because no one

was prepared.
