The 1000 series takes more stringent steps to improve the quality of gear quality, which we now
expect from an automatic gearbox. The 2000 series uses wider steps to accommodate more heavy cars of the 2000 series. The transfer of both new units are indicated in this manual. The gearboxes of series 1000 and 2000 have parking, rear, neutral and five front gears, while the fifth gear is increasing and is fully controlled by electronics. Please
note that the standard General Motors housing connector is used, and the parking/neutral switch is exactly the same switch that is currently used at the Thm 4L60-E transmission. Two different configurations of the lower bowl are also available, which makes these devices even more universal. In the transmissions of the 1000 and 2000 series, five
clutch packages are used (without a belt, without a free stroke clutch) for five gears plus reverse. This manual tells about the dismantling, restoration of all components and installations of the 1000 and 2000 series. Updated in October 2003. Refrigerant and refrigerant pressure tap and main line pressure are not to imitate the stem system. The output flange/yoke mounting bolt is also not metric.

General Description and Operation of a Typical Allison 1000/2000/2400 Series gearbox is a fully automatic torque driven block. All models have neutral, reverse gear and up to 5 speeds, with 5th gear being faster. See. Figure 2 which provides different figures of
different models. The twisting converters of these devices are simple sae no. 2, sae no. 3 or in some cases directly to the engine. The Flexplant gearbox is used for the entire torque transmission of the motor gearbox. There are several different torque converters for connecting transmissions to various diesel and gasoline engines. The torque converter
is an unequivocal three-component block consisting of a pump, stator and turbine with a converter clutch to provide direct engine-to-gearbox transmissions. The converter clutch works and is released electronically and changes the direction of fluid flow in the converter, like most converters today. Inside, these devices have 2 rotary clutches (C1 and
C2) and 3 brake clutches (C3, C4 and C5) to direct the flow of torque through the device. All clutch packs are hydraulically connected to the automatic damper compensation and release the spring and find their positionsec. 2. The Transmission Control Module (TCM) signals six different solenoids located on the valve body to engage and disengage
the clutch based on the combination of vehicle speed and horsepower, and the range selected by the driver. The planetary gear consists of three sets of permanently interlocking helical planetary gears designated P1, P2 and P3. Utilizing 5 clutch packs in various combinations, the planetary gears react separately or together to provide 5 forward
gears, one neutral gear and one reverse. The common hydraulic system provides fluid for all hydraulic, lubrication and cooling operations. The front torque converter driven oil pump supplies the pressure needed for the hydraulic system and comes from a common oil pan in the crankcase. A bottom suction filter provides overall protection for the
entire hydraulic system, while the spin-on filter provides permanent protection for the control solenoids and multi-pass protection for the entire system. The backup filter is located on the lower left side of the transmission, outside the torque converter housing. Some 1000/2000/2400 Series transmissions are available with an optional extension that
accepts an OEM fitted dual-shoe drum parking brake. The 1000/2000/2400 series gearboxes use lever selectors as shown in figure 2. 4. For vehicle control and/or for the control of various chassis-mounted equipment, the vehicle may be equipped with one or two shift levers , depending on the number of cabins. The gear positions on the selector lever

management is done with a transmission management form (TCM). Transman control modules are available in 12V and 24V configurations to match the configuration of the vehicle's electrical system. Figure 6 shows the TCM signals from various switches, sensors and operations. The TCM determines the sequence, timing and clutch and apply and
distribute pressure. TCM controls solenoids and valves, power system status eDiagnostic information for service specialists. Speed sensors are alternating unwillingness to convert mechanical movement into alternating stress. Each sensor consists of a coil of a wire wound on a pole mount adjacent to a constant magnet. These elements are located in
the case, which is installed next to the rotating iron element, for example, the tooth of the gear. Two signal wires go from the one end of the case, and the open end of the pole fraining is located on the opposite end of the case. coupling, a variable voltage pulse is induced in a wire coil. TCM calculates the frequency of these alternating impulses and converts it into a speed value. The produced alternating voltage ranges from 150 mV at low speeds to 15 V at high speeds. The signal wires from the sensor are made in the form of twisted steam to suppress magnetic-induced
fields. The cable is also shielded to protect against fields associated with voltage. A typical speed sensor is shown in Figure 7. The noise from other sources is eliminated in TCM using a two -wire differential entrance. The engine speed sensor is installed outside the hydrotransformer inverter and is focused on the ribs protruding from the
hydrotransformer, as shown in Figure 1. It is screwed into the extension cord and through the output shaft and directs to the tooths of the tonal wheel, which have a thread and rotate. gearbox. TPS has a rolled cable and potentiometer. One end of the cable is connected to the throttle lever and the other to the potentiometer inside the protective housing. The output voltage from TPS is directed to the gearbox control module (TCM) via the outer cable. The voltage signal will change and indicate the location of the throttle and
together with other inputs will determine the switching time. See the chart in Figure 10 to see the approximate tension with various throttle openings.
