Hadith e Qudsi and Hadith e Nabwi

• Hadith Qudsi are direct revelation from Allah to the Prophet but conveyed
to the people in the Prophet's own words and i t w e r e r ev ea l ed
th r o u g h d r ea m s a n d i n s p i r a t i o n
• Hadith Nabawi are sayings or actions, silent approval by the Prophet
(p.b.u.h.)
• The Quran is different as in Quran words were revealed to the Prophet and
• Quran is recited while Hadis Qudsi is not recited
• Quran is revealed by Angel jibrail while Hadis Qudsi is not revealed by Angel
• The chain of authority of Hadith Qudsi ends with Allah and that of Hadith
Nabawi ends with the Prophet (p.b.u.h.)

• Example of Hadis e Qudsi is “Fasting is for me and I shall compensate it” or
“Allah wrote in His Book before the creation of the world” my mercy
overcomes My wrath”
• Hadith Qudsi are 1000 in number while Hadith Nabwi are much more in
number.
• These Hadiths mostly talk about Allah’s relation with his servants that’s why
they are more popular in Sufism (Islamic mysticism).
