(2) The Authority may issue a licence in respect of an activity listed in the

Schedule.

(3) The Authority shall, subject to such conditions it may impose, exempt a
person from holding a licence where -

(a) a person uses a generator to generate electricity for his own


consumption or for the supply of electricity to employees or
tenants staying on premises belonging to the person;

(b) the generator is not connected to a licensee’s network; and

(c) the generator does not exceed 400 kW.

(4) Notwithstanding subsection (3), where the supply of electricity to a person


has been interrupted or discontinued under this Act in respect of a
premises, that person or any other person shall not, in respect of the
same premises, be exempt from holding a licence.

4. Application for licences

(1) Any person who wishes to -

(a) obtain, transfer or renew a licence; or

(b) have the terms of his licence amended,

shall make a written application to the Authority in a manner and form


determined by the Authority.

(2) On receipt of an application under subsection (1), the Authority shall give
public notice of the application in the Gazette and in 2 daily newspapers.
