Our loving Nature

By: Bevi Tamargo
This week the breeze has begun to get colder. People start taking out their winter clothes. The change in temperature took place faster this year compared to the other years. The climate is indeed changing. It reminds us that we need to take care of our environment more. We need to become more responsible in every little way. It is a shame that back in the Philippines, people are not more conscious about the environment. We do not even practice waste segregation which takes but a simple effort from everyone. We used to have beautiful and prosperous rivers, such as the Pasig River. But now, such beauty is a thing of the pastand all that is left is a liquid ruinit is sad that such beauty is gone I guess all things need nurturing otherwise they fall in shambles and may forever be lost. It is sad when beauty is ruined. God created so much beauty in this world. In naturein peoplebut when we fail to nurture this beautyit becomes a reflection of what we put into itlack of care, selfishness, immaturiy, or sometimes just plain sadism. Sometimes we forget that we have a responsibility. A responsibility to protect what is beautiful in this world. A responsibility to be more gentle, and carefulwith nature, with other peoplewith ourselves. Sometimes we forget that dont just live for ourselves that we are not alone in this world. And it is indeed, that the world around us could become a reflection of negative things inside us that we could ruin thingsand even people. But then, to see beauty in something, we need to see it first in ourselves. To be able to love something truly, we need to find it first inside us. And perhaps that is where it has to start.

PAGNINILAY:
Fr. Jboy M. Gonzales SJ

A Kingdom not of this world

Throughout his Gospel, John portrays Jesus as being in charge of every situation. He is fully aware of what is going to happen to him, and he takes the initiative in the events which lead to his death. During his trial before Pilate, the Roman governor asks Jesus, Are you the king of the Jews? (v 33). Jesus, fully in charge, does not answer the question, but poses one of his own to Pilate, Do you say this on your own or have others told you about me? (v 34).

Second, Jesus expresses the quality of his kingship: For this I was born and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth (v 37). Jesus reveals the truth about God in his own person, in his words, and in his actions.

KARUNUNGAN:
- Bro. Joel Tavarro

Bago ka makipagkaibigan kanino man, subukin mo muna siya, At huwag mo siyang pagtitiwalaan agad . (Ecclesiastico 6:7)
