More than 23,000 Ukrainians have been allowed to enter the United
States as part of the Biden administration's "United for Ukraine"
program, which aims to simplify the process for Ukrainian refugees
seeking to enter the United States, according to the Department of
Homeland Security.
In April, US President Joe Biden announced the launch of the "United for
Ukraine" program, which offers interested Ukrainians the opportunity to
travel to the United States for a temporary period.The program requires
Ukrainians wishing to enter the United States to be sponsored by a U.S.
citizen or individual, which could include relocation organizations and
nonprofits.In order to be eligible, applicants must also undergo rigorous
security checks, including biographical and biometric examinations,
complete vaccination schedules, as well as the Covid vaccine.
As of May 31, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service has received
more than 42,000 applications from applicants who agree to support
Ukrainians, according to the Department of Homeland Security.More than
5,800 Ukrainians have arrived in the United States under the
program. After receiving the permit, the Ukrainians have time to buy a
plane ticket and arrive in the USA.
