Cuando hablamos sobre los medios de transporte es necesario prestar atención a

algunos aspectos específicos como los siguientes.

Cuando queremos decir cómo nos dirigimos o movilizamos a un sitio regularmente usamos la preposición BY (Fíjate que
no usamos IN sino BY):
I go to work by car. / Voy al trabajo en auto.
She came by taxi. / Ella vino en taxi.
I like travelling by boat. / Me gusta viajar en bote.
I go to Paris by plane. / Voy a París en avión.
He came by bike. / Él vino en bicicleta.
Existe una excepción; cuando queremos decir que vamos a algún sitio «caminando» o «a pie«, usamos la
preposición ON.
We go to school on foot. / Nosotras vamos a la escuela a pie.

2. Si queremos decir que estamos dentro («en«), usualmente lo hacemos de la siguiente manera. Casi siempre usamos
la preposición ON con los medios de transporte en inglés:
I was on a plane yesterday. / Yo estaba en un avión ayer.
They are on a boat. / Ellas están en un bote.
We met on a bus. / Nos conocimos en un bus.
Para referirnos a «auto» o «taxi» usamos IN.
She got in the car quickly. / Ella subió al auto rápido.
She was in a taxi last night. / Ella estaba en un taxi anoche.
