PAST CONTINUOUS - (Ing)

We use the past continuous to talk about an action IN PROGRESS in the PAST.

STRUCTURE:

SUBJECT + WAS/WERE + ING VERB + COMPLEMENT.

RULE:

WAS – (I/HE/SHE/IT)

WERE – (YOU/WE/THEY)

EXAMPLES:

What were you doing yesterday?

. Yesterday morning, I was teaching English, after that I was doing exercises at home, later I went to the store. When
I was doing my homework my mother came to my apartment and we had dinner.

CLASSWORK:

What were you doing yesterday? (5 actions)

. Yesterday morning, I was watching English class, after that I was going to the gym, later I was doing homework, I
was playing basketball, and I was cooking the dinner.

NOTE:
