FAQ
Q: Why was the XT60 input connector chosen?
A: The connector model XT60 has been chosen for its technical reliability characteristics
(supports up to 60A continuous) and for the easy availability on the market.

Q: What is the maximum supported current in 12V input supply?

A: The maximum current managed is 30A.

Q: Are there any protections for the 12V input supply?

A: Yes, AstroBox is protected from polarity inversion and from Transient Voltage.

Q: What are the characteristics of the Five 12V outputs power socket?
A: The Five 12V outputs through a socket for 5.5x2.1 cylindrical connector are full metal
to ensure best connection reliability and current delivery.

Q: Are there any protections on the 12v outputs?

A: Each port can provide up to 5A and is short-circuit protected with a polyfuse (self-
restored when the device that generated the problem is disconnected).
In case of polyfuse intervention on one port, the other ports will continue to work
seamlessy.

Q: Why was it chosen to integrate a hub USB 2.0?

A: Astrophotography requires maximum reliability and flexibility. From these
considerations, we have implemented a powered hub USB 2.0 that guarantees the best
signal stability and the possibility of using cables up to 5 meters.

Q: What are features of USB ports?

A: There are 7 data ports USB 2.0 type A with a maximum speed of 480Mbit/s
(corresponding to 60Mb/s). Each data port is protected from overcurrent over 2 Ampere
and electrostatic discharge. There is also an additional service 5V USB port type A
(without data) for supply-only purpose with current limiting protection (3A) via polyfuse.

Q: Why use AstroBox?

A: AstroBox not only solves and simplifies the wiring of your setup, but also makes
astrophotography much easier and more enjoyable. With a large and modular set of
accessories, it adapts to every need and customization required by the amateur
astronomer.
The search for quality and reliability has led to the use of oversized internal components
that allow the user not to lose entire nights with continuous disconnections of peripherals
due to poor design quality.
