Carefully read and follow the steps in the installation instruction. General Instructions Use a propane (preferred) or butane gas torch. Ensure the torch is always used in a well-ventilated environment. ‘Adjust the torch to obtain a soft biue flame with a yellow tip. Pencilike blue flames should be avoided. Keep the torch aimed in the shrink direction to preheat the material. Keep the flame moving continuously to avoid scorching the material Clean and degrease all parts that will come into contact with adhe Ifa solventis used follow the manufacturer's handling instructions. Position the end of the earth lead on the ‘metal tape shield of one core about 100 mm from the end ofthe oversheath, Starting at the opposite si of the core, ‘wrap the roll spring twice . or the earth lead, in the direction of 3 metal tape ‘shiold wrap. Fold the e:h lead back over the rol spring, ‘Wrap the rest of the oll spring around the earth lead. Carefully slide the roll spring ‘and earth lead dov' into the crutch unt it is about 10 mm frcm the end of the ‘oversheath. Starting at the opposite side of the cable, wrap the rol spring twice ‘over the earth lead about § mm from the ‘end of the oversheath, ‘Apply the roll spring in the direction of the ‘metal tape shield wrap, roll spring oversheath Fold the end of the earth lead back over the roll spring. Wrap the rest of the roll spring over the earth lead. Tighten th. .oll spring with a twisting action and fxit into place With two layers of adhesive tape. Fix the wires with ‘awire binder 60 mm from the end of the oversheath. Gather the shielding wires together to form an earth lead. Wrap a second layer of sealant tape ‘over the shielding wires for 60 mm. ‘Thoroughly remove the core screen to within 40 mm of the oversheath cut The surface of the insulation should be free from all traces of conductive material ‘Smooth out any irregularities. Clean and degrease the end of the oversheath for about 100 mm. Wrap the mastic strip (yellow) around the end of the core screen.
