knowledge that is delivered by the teacher in line with schedule.
Exercise In the exercise session the lecturer will present practical problems related
to each topic and discuss its solutions. Active student participation is
encouraged.
Group work Since students have to give a group presentation we will use the exercise
session for topic assignment and some preparatory group work.

Mode of assessment

Mini test (mandatory)

At the end of the course we will write a mini test (single-choice questions):
 Length of examination: 20 minutes
 No materials (closed book exam)

Group project (mandatory)

We will form groups of 5-6 students and each group has to develop and to give a group presentation
(e.g. with ppt.) which should last about 20 minutes. All topics will be assigned during the exercise
session.

Assignments 1 (voluntary)
Students from each group can voluntary write a term paper on the presented topic. Group members
who could not attend the presentation of their group thereby have the chance to compensate for
their absence.

Assignments 2 (voluntary)
Students can also choose to write a term paper on a topic presented by another group. Hence, all
students do have the chance to submit an additional assignment.
