I. OBJECTIVES At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
1. show understanding about the five essentials of welding
2. apply the five essentials of welding in welding
3. explain the importance of applying the five essentials of
welding.

a. Topic Weld Carbon Steel Plates Using SMAW
III. STRATEGIES
Activity 2. (Motivation)
The teacher will show some pictures of welding defects, and
the students will observe and identify the possible causes of it.
Teacher will assess their work with the help of the rubrics below.

Test I. IDENTIFICATION
Instructions: Identify what is being asked on the following
questions.
1. The distance from the tip of the electrode core wire to the
weld puddle.

V. AGREEMENT/ Assignment:
ASSIGNMENT 1. In a 1 whole sheet of paper, write your experience during
your practicum applying the five essentials of welding in
performing 1F position in carbon steel plates.
2. Have an advance reading about the different types of beads.
