1. What is the meaning of sacrament according to Canon 840. Write the definition and explain. (10 points)
The New Testament sacraments were established by Christ the Lord and committed to the Church.
They are marks and means by which Christ and the Church express and develop faith, render devotion to God,
and accomplish the sanctification of humanity, and so contribute most effectively to the establishment,
strengthening, and manifestation of ecclesiastical communion. As a result, holy ministers and other members
of the Christian faithful must employ the utmost reverence and diligence when celebrating the sacraments.

2. How is faith expressed and strengthened through the sacraments? (3 points)


The sacraments aid in the sanctification of individuals and the building up of the body of Christ. They are a
method to stay connected to God during life's ups and downs, as well as a way to express praise and adoration
to God. They aid in the nourishment, strengthening, and expression of our religion.

3. How is worship offered to God through the sacraments? (3 points)


A sacrament is a religious rite that Christians believe draws them closer to God and facilitates the reception
of God's grace. Many people think of sacraments as visible manifestations of God's grace, which is otherwise
invisible.
