Hello everyone
In this article i will talk about the BBU CPRI interface error, Most of the reasons for this alert we encountered are
due to faulty SFP,

In order to be able to properly treat this alarm, you must be well versed in the arrangement of BBU cards and
ports.
So we will focus on arranging BBU cards and ports Follow

  Post
BBU CPRI Interface Error
This alarm is reported when the link between the BBU and the lower-level RF units malfunctions. This alarm is
cleared when the link can function properly and remains functional for a period of time (90s by default). The
alarm filtering parameters can be set by running the SET ALMFILTER command.

Impact
In chain topology, the link for the lower-level RF units is disconnected and the services carried on the lower-level
RF units are interrupted. In CPRI MUX, the services of the peer mode are interrupted when the local mode is a
converging party and the faulty port provides the convergence function.
In ring topology, the reliability of the links for the RF units decreases. In this case, the standby link becomes the
activated link for the lower-level RF units and the services are switched over to the standby link. If a hot ring is
used, the ongoing services are not affected. If a cold ring is used, the ongoing services are interrupted
temporarily.

The reasons of alarm
1-Data configuration is incorrect if a multimode base station reports the alarm. As a result, the timing loop fails.
2-The user has run a command that block the CPRI port.
3-If the optical transmission is used, the optical module on the port of the BBU connecting to the lower-level RF
units is faulty.
4-If the optical transmission is used, the interface board in the BBU connecting to the lower-level RF units is
faulty.
5-If the optical transmission is used, the optical module of the lower-level RF unit connected to the BBU is faulty.
6-If the optical transmission is used, the lower-level RF unit connected to the BBU is faulty.
7-If the electrical transmission is used, the cable between the lower-level RF unit and the BBU is faulty.
8-In multimode configuration, the optical module on the inter-BBU port or the inter-BBU cable is faulty.
9-If the optical transmission is used, the optical module or connector on the port of the BBU connecting to the
lower-level RF units is not securely installed.
10-If the optical transmission is used, the connector or the optical module on the port of the lower-level RF unit
connected to the BBU is not securely installed.
11-If the optical transmission is used, the fiber optic cable between the lower-level RF unit and the BBU is faulty.
12-If the electrical transmission is used, the CPRI electrical cable between the lower-level RF unit and the BBU is
not securely installed.

Alarm handle
1-Check the connections of the CPRI electrical cable Continue the operation according to the flowchart based on
the obtained information.
2-Connect the RX and TX ports of the optical module on the subrack to perform a loopback.
3-Check the running status of the RRU.
4-Connect the RX and TX ends of the optical fiber to perform a loopback from the BBU to the RRU.
5-Check fiber connections.
6-Replace the optical module on the RRU.
7-Replace the RF unit.
8-Reinstall the original RF unit.
9-Replace the optical module on the BBU.
10-Reinstall the board.
11-Replace the board.
12-Reinstall the original board.
13-Check the running status of the RRU.

in this case , location of port issue alarm cabinet 0   subrack 0    slot 2    port 2

And this is a picture of the port with the BBU CPRI interface error alarm and I removed the fiber cable to make it
clear to you

BBU  arrangement of the Slots and Ports
The arrangement of the Slots in the left part of the BBU,
The BBU starts from the top slot 0 then Slot 1 then slot 2 then slot 3
UBBP stars from left with port 0 then port  1 then port 2 ........act
If you want to take the right action, you must specify the location by slot and Port
