Although they are safe to use in the short term, coal, gas, and oil present a long-term threat to the environment.
All three types of fossil fuels produce carbon dioxide in far greater quantities than plants can use. The carbon
dioxide then accumulates in the atmosphere and may even increase the earth's 'heat load' and lead to global
rises in temperature. Thus, contrary to popular belief, the use of coal, gas and oil is not as safe as was originally
thought. Furthermore, all three fossil fuels are non-renewable forms of energy.
Hydropower (in the form of waterfalls and dams) offers a much more useful source of energy. It is also renewable,
but its availability is limited. Dams cannot be built in certain areas. In addition, dams may have a damaging effect
on a locality, resulting in the loss of farming land and the silting up of rivers. Large dams are also capable of
causing changes in the world’s climate.
Solar power is renewable, it does not cause pollution and it does not add to the earth's heat load. Unfortunately,
solar power is not distributed equally, and in northern latitudes it is difficult to collect and store. Solar power also
requires expensive ‘equipment’. Finally, nuclear power provides a very efficient and renewable power source.
However, not only is there a great danger of leaks or accidents but there is also the problem of the disposal of
radioactive waste.
Answer
13. Fossil fuels are completely safe to the environment. 13. ……
14. Fossil fuels are renewable. 14. ……
15. Large dams can cause changes in the world’s climate. 15. ……
16. It doesn't cost too much to preserve solar power. 16. ……

A. the search for alternative sources of energy has led in various directions

Have you ever been in an earthquake? How did it feel? An earthquake can be a scary experience. What is an
earthquake? An earthquake is really Earth’s way of getting rid of stress. The earth has plates that shift black and forth. This
stress and strain cause the surface of the earth to crack. It is like pushing against the two ends of a stick. The stick will
eventually bend and break from the pressure. The Earth’s crust reacts the same way. As the plates move, they put pressure
on each other. When the force is strong enough, the crust breaks. The stress is released as energy that moves through
the earth in the form of waves. These waves are what we call earthquakes.
Did you know that there are different types of earthquakes? They are called tectonic, volcanic, and explosion
earthquakes. A tectonic earthquake is the most common. These happen when the rocks on Earth’s crust break because
of the tectonic plates shifting. A volcanic earthquake takes place during the eruption of a volcano. Explosion earthquakes
happen when there has been a chemical or nuclear detonation. These earthquakes take place in underground mines.
Earthquakes can be measured in many ways. One of the ways is to measure how intense an earthquake is Magnitude is
another way to measure an earthquake. The Richter scale is used to measure the magnitude. Seismic measurement is
measured by using seismic waves.

When you go to a party in Atlantic, don’t bring a gift. If you do so, our host will believe that you think they are
poor.
Never arrive on time here. Come one or two hours late because your hosts will not be ready on time themselves.
In Atlantic, all schedules (even airline schedules) run on “elastic time”.
At dinner time, eat only what the hosts serve you. If you ask for something special, the hosts try to get what you
want, even if they have to go out to the store that evening. And never look at the other guests while you eat.
Instead, look down at your food. Use a spoon for all foods, even hard foods like fried meat or a steak!

Thanks to the rapid advances of technology, online learning is a part of many institutions' course offerings
around the world. Nowadays, with the help of communication technology, it is much easier for us to study or improve
our knowledge. One way to do that is online learning in which people from one country can attend a college or
university in another. Online learning is very convenient and cheap because we just stay at home and use a computer.
Some universities in the world have been providing online classes for a number of years, and some students who
have taken online classes say that they like them so much. Forget about attending classes for hours, sitting in an
uncomfortable chair, and suffering from back pain by the end of the day. All lectures and needed materials are
provided via online platforms, so you’ll easily access them from the comfort of your home. In addition, learning online
programs is also diverse, so learners can receive programs for all levels from a distance education. Some online
programs are very good and believable. They provide students with all information they need to finish their course.
However, you should not send money to any schools that say you can get a college degree without doing any work.
These online courses might be illegal organizations. So, thinking carefully is necessary before getting an education
online. Be alert!
