This document discusses strategies for advancing India's clean energy transition goals in line with global developments. It outlines focusing on key challenges to achieving affordable clean energy, emerging solutions to meet net zero targets by 2027, 2030 and 2050/2070, and the action plans, policy frameworks, implementation strategies and financial mechanisms required. Given energy is a concurrent issue in India requiring coordination between central and state governments, the solutions proposed should focus on policy and regulatory amendments to achieve India's clean energy transition goals.

Affordable and Clean Energy focused Transition and
Measures required towards speeding up the pace of India’s clean energy transition in par with Global developments.
Problem Statement: Focus on energy transition and clean
energy shift has globally grown rapidly in recent years. However, when one has to define energy transition, there is no ideal mix that can be unanimously adopted worldwide. On a larger prospective, every country has its own specific focus areas and the aim at international summits is to achieve these major global objectives. These objectives cannot be achieved without strong support from both Central and State Govt to achieve net zero goals. Although these ambitions are clear for majority of the countries, adoption pace is still slow. In order to speed up this transition, accelerate the deployment of available solutions along with innovating for the future, it is important to focus on the below major areas: 1. Current key challenges in achieving affordable clean energy transition. 2. New emerging solutions with focus on achieving the stated Net Zero goals. • Short term goals - 2027 • Mid term goals- 2030 • Long term goals - 2050, 2070 3. The action points and the roadmap to achieve NetZero goals (for the solution mentioned in point number 2) 4. Please mention the implementation strategy and policy framework required to achieve Net Zero goals (for the action points & roadmap mentioned in point number 3) 5. Key strategies or financial mechanisms to make the solutions affordable. 6. Adoption of Emerging Technologies to achieve the above stated goals.
When it comes to India, the transition process will not be
linear, top-down process is driven only by the Central government in India. In fact, it requires a coordinated role with State Governments (Energy is a Concurrent issue) and abide with legal power, regulatory set up as per constitution of India. Hence, the solutions should focus on amendments or policy and regulatory solutions towards achieving India’s Energy Transition goals with a focus on above mentioned areas.
