Alexis: We are here to promote some tourist places in Peru. Mark is one of our
assistants at IPERU. HE knows a lot of information about this wonderful city. Mark, tell
us what you know about Piura

Mark: Good morning, Piura is known for its colonial buildings, such as its cathedral
with its ornate golden altar.

Alexis: ¿Mark, can you tell us about the Piura seasoning?

Mark: There is a wide variety of typical foods in Piura and one of its best known dishes
is the “seco de chavelo”

Alexis: Mark, one question, ¿why is it that Piura is known as the city of eternal heat?

Mark: It is due to its heat and radiant sun from day to day, as well as it is known as the
City of carob trees for its tropical dry forests.

Alexis: Now I will introduce our second assistant.

Lourdes: Hello, my name is Lourdes and today I am in charge of presenting the

beautiful city of Arequipa so that you have a better knowledge of it and its tourist
places.

Alexis: Tell us Lourdes, what do you know about this beautiful city?

Lourdes: One of the main characteristics of Arequipa is that it is known as the "White
City" due to the special whiteness of the "sillar", abundant volcanic stone in this area,
with which its magnificent temples were built.

Alexis: ¿And what could you tell us about its gastronomy?

Lourdes: The most recognized dish on the gastronomic menu of the city of Arequipa is
the Ocopa Arequipeña, this dish is based on a delicious, smooth and creamy sauce
traditionally served bathing some delicious Peruvian potatoes.
