Posture Analysis Protocol:

Position:

1. Line heels up on a line


2. Hip width apart
3. Patient closes eyes and nods head up and down
4. Comes to rest in what they feel is neutral and opens eyes

Landmarks:
From Back
RyP: Gluts(psis) to Heels. Example: +RyP Left Glut obscures the left heel
RyT: Scapula (paravertebral muscular) to gluts/PSIS. Example: RyT+ Left scapula obscures view of left
glut
Txt: T1 to S1 with shoulders even. Example: +Txt T1 is to the left of S1 with even shoulders
RzT: T1 to S1 with shoulder low on ipsilateral side of deviation. Example: +RzT T1 to the right of S1 right
shoulder is lower than left shoulder
TxP: S1 off midline midstance. Example: +TxP S1 is to the left of midstance

From Side:
TzP: Greater trochanter to Lateral malleolus. Example: +TzP Greater Trochanter anterior to Lateral
Malleolus
TzT: Ac joint to great trochanter with a change in thoracic curve. Example: + TzT AC anterior to GT with
loss of t-spine curve, - TzT Ac post to GT with increase of t-spine
RxT: Ac joint to great trochanter with loss of t-spine curve or increase t-spine curve Example: +RxT AC
anterior to GT with increase t-spine curve
TzH: EAM to AC joint with eyes level with horizon. Example: +TzH EAM anterior to AC joint with eyes
level to horizon
RxH: EAM to AC and Canthus to ear
-RxH: Canthus superior to corner of the ear, EAM behind AC
+RxH: Canthus inferior to corner of ear, EAM anterior to AC

From the Anterior:


3 points for all Postures
Episternal notch to philtrum
Glabella to philtrum
Sides of face

+RyH: Philtrum and glabella are to the left of the episternum, glab is over the philtrum, I see more of the
right side of the face
-RzH: Phil to the left of the epi, glab to the left of phil, and even face
+TxH: Phil to the left of the epi, glab is in line with the phil, and even face
