My profession is audio engineering, I chose this career because I'm very interested and
passionate about pursuing music. I have always loved listening to music since I was very young.
I listen to music every day, music also helps me with my emotions and feelings. Because it's my
passion to produce music for other artists, for myself and for people to listen to. To make my
career possible, I want to go Berklee college of music so I can study audio engineering and
achieve my bachelor's degree. I want to help society and communities in a good way by
creating music that everyone all around the world would like to listen to and enjoy.
To start off, what does an audio engineer do? The author of indeed.com states that “An audio
engineer is a technical specialist who controls the setup and operation of equipment that
records, edits, mixes and reproduces sound.” Audio engineers build up their music portfolio,
they can produce music on their own, work with other artists/bands, or work with a publisher
or a record label. To be an audio engineer you must have a music studio with all the equipment
you need. The author of zippia.com states that “The education needed to be a music engineer
is normally a bachelor's degree.” In my opinion out of all the top audio engineering schools, the
one I want to go to is Berklee college of music because it is in the top 5 schools in the U.S.
Because it offers a wide range of contemporary and historic styles, including rock, hip hop,
reggae, salsa, heavy metal and bluegrass. The author of indeed.com states that “It takes four
years for a bachelor's degree in audio engineering.” I would like to go to Berklee college for 4
years so I can achieve a bachelor's degree. Another way to learn is by sound engineering online
course programs, they offer learning topics like mixing, editing, music, and software. Another
way to learn is by having an internship at a professional studio so you can learn from
professional audio engineers. These are the ways that a person who wants to be an audio
Music is used to help societies and many people in many good ways. Lia Peralta states “Music
as a cultural right, may aid in the promotion and protection of other human rights. It can help in
the healing process, disbanding walls and boundaries, reconciliation and education. Around the
world, music if used for social change and for bringing communities together.” Music can
influence and motivate people through good messages. Music can create a sense of belonging
within a community, a group of people, or a society by communicating with each other. People
use music to express themselves. People can create or strengthen bonds connecting with each
other through music. Music has the power to change people's feelings, thoughts, and emotions
in good ways. The author of hopskinsmedicine.org states that “Research has shown that
listening to music can reduce anxiety, blood pressure, and pain as well as improve sleep quality,
mood, mental alertness, and memory.” Music helps with mental health and with therapy by
helping people with their mood emotions, and thoughts in good ways. Alexandra Frost states
that “In fact, research has shown that it can lessen the impact of depression and anxiety. A
study done in 2019 found that college students who listened to classical music every day for
two months lowered their levels of anxiety significantly.” Additionally, music passes through
generations because music is part of people's cultures. And music can bring communities
together. That’s why the music audio engineers produce are important to our society.
To make a living out of being an audio engineer what should you do? Daily an audio engineer
works in their studio at home or an actual studio. The author of prospects.au.uk states that
“Working days of 10-14 hours are commonplace. You're likely to work evenings, nights and
weekends according to the live performance schedule, or when artists are available to be
recorded in the studio.” It all depends on if you are self-employed or the record label you're
working under. The author of podcastle.ai states that “Audio engineers use various tools and
techniques to work on what they decide to do. Whether it's music, filming, videogames, or
other types of media.” Audio engineers have options on which jobs to work at. The author of
zippia.com states that “Audio engineers are in high in demand so there's many job
opportunities.” Some ways to make money are by selling your beat sample packs. Another way
is by creating any social media or platform in which people can donate or pay for audios you
produce. The author of salary.com states that “The average salary for an audio engineer is
$56,650-$75,740 dollars in 2023 in the U.S.” It all depends on if your self-employed or working
under a record label. And the amount of money people pays for the music you produce. These
interest, is that I want to produce music which people all around the world can enjoy listening
to. What I learned from this career is that it's hard to learn audio engineering so it will take time
to become a professional. I know that I must go to college for 4 years to achieving in audio
engineering for a bachelor's degree. I will go to the college I can get into so I can be prepared
for making out a living out of audio engineering. I'm sure that I don’t reconsider this career
because I'm sure If I choose this career, I won't regret it because music what I will enjoy
