Occupational therapy
for my profession in general and is a guide for the practice of occupational therapy. Occupation
defines all activities that people occupy. As an occupational therapist assistant, I dedicate my
time to assisting people and their families to participate in those activities. Occupational
therapists work with specific groups, for instance, in my case, I am working in a school system
that offers therapy to children and also in an outpatient facility helping people to recover from
hip fractures, knee replacement and stroke. I help these people who have suffered injuries
through accidents to recover to continue engaging in their daily life activities. I train my clients
to either use assertive technologies or teach them to hold objects or ways to walk. Occupational
science has always been my guide in executing my duties since it is a study of human occupation
groups, like children and elderly people and their specific challenges to engage in activities, for
this reasons I am of the view that occupational science has always been a guide to occupational
therapists.
I believe that the landscape for the scientific community has been changed by the
the international perspectives and bodies of knowledge forming foundations of any subject
including occupational science, for this reason, occupational science can be universally accepted
assistant, my duties have been influenced by occupational science concepts that developed in
