Name: Jenna Giambra Lesson Title: Beautiful Bean Bag Art!
Date: 03/01/2023 Grade Level: Preschool Circle one: ECE PKSN
Standard(s)/Guideline(s):
Creativity: Use imagination and creativity to interact with objects and materials.
Motor Development: Demonstrate coordination in using objects during active play (e.g., throwing, catching, kicking balls, riding tricycle).
Social Emotional: Demonstrate socially competent behavior with peers.
Pre-assessment of current knowledge: At the beginning of the lesson, I will conduct a hook conversation with the children to determine their prior knowledge
on the academic vocabulary that is included in this lesson, as well as their prior knowledge on painting. I will ask specific probing questions to determine their
understanding of the terms “splatter”, “rub”, “paint”, “dip”, etc., and I will also ask questions that will connect the activity to their personal lives such as, “Have
you ever painted before?”, “What did you use?”, “How did you do it?”. This will help me gauge the level of prior understanding and experience the children have
geared towards the art of painting.
