What is Entrepreneurship?
- Someone who creates and runs a business is called an entrepreneur.
- Is about the pursuit of new ideas and the willingness to pursue those ideas and
combine resources to achieve the goal of fulfilling the needs of market.

Discussion: Ang Entrepreneurship ay isang proseso na pinapatakbo ng mga indibidual na mga tao o
mga grupo ng mga tao, na kung tawaging mga Entrepreneurs. Sila yong mga taong nais mag umpisa
ng Negosyo at handang mag buwis upang kumite ng pera.

- When an entrepreneur starts a new business, risk is involved. Risk is the chance
of losing something.

Discussion: Ang mga indibidual na nais mag umpisa ng nesgosyo, ang pagbubuwis ng isang bagay ang
pinaka nangunguna sa lahat. Lalong lalo na ang pag kakaruon ng puhunan maliit man ito o Malaki
kailangan parin sumugal.

- Because employees work for someone else and entrepreneurs work for
themselves, entrepreneurs’ risk more than employee.
- One way you can gain a sense of what business is like is by investigating an
internship, or apprenticeship.

Why be an entrepreneur?

Discussion: Ang pinakamalaking reward na makakamit sa pagiging isang negusyante ay ang pagiging
Malaya sa pag dedesisyon sa kung anong Negosyo ang gusto mong mangyare. At naaayon sa mga
plano na nais ng isang indibidual.

 Making your own rules. When you owm a usiness, you get to be your owm boss.
 Doing work you enjoy. Since the majority of most peoples’ lies is spent working,
why not spend time doing something you enjoy?
 Creating greater wealth. There’s no limit to what an entrepreneur can make.
 Helping your community. Being an entrepreneur lets you make your community
and world a better place.
Risk of being an Entrepreneur

 Potential business failure. Being fully responsible means the success or


failure of your business rests on you.
 Unexpected Obstacles. Problems can happen that you don’t expect.
 Financial Insecurity. Many businesses don’t make much money in the
beginning, so you may not always be able to pay yourself.
 Long hours and Hard work. It’s not unusual for entrepreneurs to work a lot of
extra hours to make their business successful. This is especially true during
the initial start-up process.

Entrepreneurship in History
- Here are some well-known entrepreneurs who change the world. For what is
each entrepreneur most famous?

 Thomas Edison – When he was 12, he began working Grand trunk railroad,
selling newspaper. He even printed his own newspaper to sell. Edison
credited with some 1.093 US patent for a range of inventions that includes
light bulb, the phonograph, the motion picture camera.

 P.T Barnum – An American entrepreneur who

 William Harley & Arthur Davidson –

 Maggie Lena Walker – A business women and teacher in 1903. An first


American woman to charter a Bank. She founded St. Luke Penny Saving
Bank.

 Ingvar Kamprad – He founded IKEA one of the world most rcognized brands
known for stylish, functional and affordable furniture ( Ingvar Kamprad
Elmtaryd - the farm where he grew up, Agunnaryd – his home town )

 Stephen Wozniak & Steve Jobs – An American electronic engineer. They


began Apple Computer in 1976

 Russell Simmons – An American entrepreneur, writer and record executive.
