IV. ARGUMENTATIVE ESSAY ٙ‫يمبل دجبج‬
EXAMPLE : WOMEN’S WORKING

Nowadays, women’s working has become one of the most controversial issues. Some
people think that it is important for women to work outside home whereas others believe that it is
not necessary.
On the one hand, many people and women activists say that it is very important for a
woman to have a job outside house for many reasons. First, They can help their families
financially because women who get a salary may help in the household expenses. Second, Working
women help improving their country by being active members of their societies. Third, The
working women get a good personality and become no longer relying on their husbands’ income.
Finally, working women provide their children with better education, nutrition and clothing.
On the other hand, there are several people who think that it is not really necessary for
women to work outside home due to many facts. First of all, A working woman can’t make a
balance between her role as a mother / wife and her duties in the job. Besides, They may lose their
personality as a mother. Moreover, The working women’ salary is usually spent on her clothing,
make up and transport ; So only some money left to her.
In conclusion, as we have seen so far, the two groups of people have different points of view
concerning women’s working. For me, I’m with women’s working because I think that having a
job is one of the women’s rights.

I. TELLING A STORY ‫سزد لصت‬
(EXAMPLE OF A GOOD STORY)
I can remember a lot of good things about my childhood. One of the best stories I can remember is my
first day at school. I was six years old. I was very happy and excited to go to school for the first time in my
life. It was a sunny day. I went with my father. When we arrived there, I found lots of students. The
headmaster welcomed us warmly and I joined my classmates in the class where I met my best friend and we
sat in the same table together. It was an amazing class. I really missed those golden days of my childhood.

Now it’s your turn , write your story :

(EXAMPLE OF A BAD STORY)

The worst experience I have ever had in my life is when I didn’t succeed in the baccalaureate exam
last year. It was really a terrible experience because of the following reasons. First, I felt disappointed
when I saw my friends celebrating their success but I couldn’t, so I lost my self-confidence. Second, I had
depression and insomnia and I got sick for several days. Third, my parents blamed me so much and
prevented me from travelling with my friends to anywhere. Finally, this was one of my terrible experiences
in my life. I will never forget it. I hope I can make it this year.

Now it’s your turn , write your story :

The worst experience I have ever had in my life is………………………………………... It was really a terrible

(1) Didier Raout, who was born on March 13th in 1952, is a French
physician and microbiologist, specializing in handling infectious
diseases. He also teaches this discipline at the Faculty of Medicine of
Aix-Marseille University. Didier Raout was born in Senegal; his father
was serving there as a military doctor ; his mother is a nurse, too. His
family returned to France in 1961 and settled in Marseille. He gained a
remarkable attention all over the world during this current Corona Virus crisis when he delcared
that patients of Covid 19 can take the hydroxychloroquine treatment.

(2) Among Didier’s team a Moroccan young lady called Sara Belali who works for the doctor
in an attempt to find a cure to the disease. The 28-year-old girl obtained her doctorate in the same
field of bacteria and viruses. She is orginally from Casablanca. After
she had earned her international Master in 2015 in Ben Msik
University, Physics option, she joined the Institution of Health in
Marseille run by Didier. Her Hijab doesn’t affect her relationship
with her boss and colleagues. In 2019, she got her doctorate with
honour and her scientific research thesis impressed the doctors who
attended her PhD Dissertation Defense.

(3) On 17 March 2020, Didier received significant attention when the Corona virus spread all
over the world by saying that hydroxychloroquine can combat the virus illustrating with the
hundreds of patients who got cured thanks to the medicine. The French Health Minister was
doubtful about it, “The scientific tests are being carried out in an attempt to prove the efficiency of
the medicine prescribed by profeesor Didier. Once the results are scientifically confirmed, we’ll
announce it officially and make the drugs available to all patients not only in France but all over
the world,” he said.

(4) Likewise, in Morocco, on 16th March, the schools were closed and so were all the other
public places except the can’t-live-without ones, namely supermarkets and groceries. The
quarantine started and the life style changed radically. Instructors teach online, social distance
should be kept, no more handshaking, and wearing facemasks and regular hygiene are always
highly recommended. Supporting Didier’s prescription, Moroccan doctors use the
hydroxychloroquine and numerous patients felt much better. Many countries were impressed by
the Moroccan strategy in coping with the disease by building the largest hospital in Africa as well
as producing a large quantity of local facemasks which were exported latey to the neighouring
countries.

STEPHEN HAWKING, THE LEGEND!

(1) Stephen Hawking (January 8, 1942 to March 14, 2018) was a

British scientist, professor and author who performed groundbreaking work in
physics and cosmology, and whose books helped to make science accessible to
everyone. At age 21, while studying cosmology at the University of
Cambridge, he was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Part of
his life story was depicted in the 2014 film The Theory of Everything.
(2) Over the years, Stephen Hawking wrote or co-wrote a total of 15 books. In 1988 Hawking catapulted
to international prominence with the publication of A Brief History of Time. The short, informative book became
an account of cosmology for the masses and offered an overview of space, time and the future. The work was an
instant success, spending more than four years atop the London Sunday Times' best-seller list. Since its
publication, it has sold millions of copies worldwide and been translated into more than 40 languages.
(3)A Brief History of Time also wasn't as easy to understand as some had hoped. So in 2001, Hawking
followed up his book with The Universe in a Nutshell, which offered a more illustrated guide to cosmology's big
theories. In 2005, Hawking authored the even more accessible A Briefer History of Time, which further
simplified the original work's core concepts and touched upon the newest developments
in the field like string theory.
(4) Together these three books, along with Hawking's own research and papers,
articulated the physicist's personal search for science's Holy Grail: a single unifying
theory that can combine cosmology (the study of the big) with quantum mechanics (the
study of the small) to explain how the universe began. This kind of thinking allowed
Hawking, who claimed he could think in 11 dimensions, to lay out some big
possibilities for humankind. He was convinced that time travel is possible, and that
humans may indeed colonize other planets in the future.
(5) In September 2010, Hawking launched a new book “The Grand Design” in which he said that the Big
Bang was the inevitable consequence of the laws of physics and nothing more. "Because there is a law such as
gravity, the universe can and will create itself from nothing," Hawking said. "Spontaneous creation is the reason
there is something rather than nothing, why the universe exists, why we exist."
