Hello!

I was looking at your website when I came across your job opportunities, and I would
love to apply! I just moved to Portland, Oregon this month and would be thrilled to join a team
that seems so fun, kind, and body-positive. I grew up always being bustier than other kids in my
small town, so I understand intimately that ill-fitting clothes, especially undergarments, can do a
number on someone’s confidence. Personally, I struggled a lot with my own perception of my
value as a person and how my body figured into that, and it had a lot to do with just not having
the right bra- it’s so hard to feel like you can take up space when it feels like no one bothered
making bras that fit you right, or even finding someone who can tell you your correct size! But
as I got older, and wiser, I learned that no one’s body is “wrong”, especially not my own. It
makes me so happy to see that there are stores, such as The Pencil Test, for bustier people who
need that physical support, but also want to look cute and confident.

I also have ample experience working in customer service. At my job at Wish by the Sea
I was in charge of opening and closing duties, as well as handling customer requests, answering
calls, and assisting customers with their purchases. I feel comfortable ringing people up, taking
payment information over the phone, and making regular customers feel appreciated on an
individualized basis. I’m also trained to clean and tidy up while there is down time, as well as
check stock and make sure the storefront looks up to snuff. I will be sure to put all my skills to
use at The Pencil Test! I also worked at Foamy Wader, a woman-owned jewelry store where I
worked with the head, and only designer, Alexa. I would personally assist her as she created
one-of-a-kind pieces of handmade jewelry, and I often fulfilled specific requests and custom
orders by appointment. By the end of my time there I was opening and closing, as well as
helping with displays and taking inventory.

Working as a Bra Fitter for The Pencil Test sounds like an incredible experience, and I
