Your soils are light textured sandy-clay-loams which are acidic and below the
optimum soil pH range for crop production hence the need for lime application. We
recommend the application of Dolomitic Lime at rates given in this report. Nutritionally,
your soils
have low levels of residual nutrients. However, maximum yields can be attained upon
application of fertilizers recommended in this report. We also recommend
application of organic soil fertility amendments to improve soil health
Basic Treatment

a) When beds are prepared for the first time or for replanting, broadcast and turn in thoroughly
the following dressings:-

Comments  Lime, Gypsum and Manure/Compost should be applied prior to disc-

incorporated thoroughly before planting each crop.

NB: Make sure your basal fertilizers have appreciable amounts of Boron (0.1 %) and Zinc
(0.25 %). Other trace elements like Copper, Manganese, Molybdenum and Iron can be applied
as regular foliar sprays for all crops.
a) REGULAR TOP-DRESSINGS

GARLIC: 300 kg/ha of Ammonium Nitrate once after bulbs starts to form (5-7 weeks from
transplanting).

It is recommended to apply micronutrients, growth booster and enhancers as foliar sprays at

4-6 weeks from germination. The foliar sprays should contain trace elements like Zinc, Iron,
Manganese, Boron, Copper and Molybdenum
GINGER/ TUMERIC: You are strongly recommended to apply fully composted manure especially
chicken manure or vermin-compost at 500kg/ha every 1.5 months.
