Song title:- God on the mountain

My dear brothers and sister in Christ, I am so delighted to stand in your midst

this afternoon. You are all looking great. I would love us to listen to this story that
happened in my village last year.

There was a boy named Chimaobi who fractured his leg while playing football
in school. Due to this disaster, he was taken to a traditional bone healer. Every
morning, his mum would place him in the healer’s hut and told to go outside because
the process of massaging could be traumatizing. The bone healer would be massaging
his legs and in tears, Chimaobi would shout ewee oh, mma oh, ukwu’m oh. His mum
would hear his shout from outside and in her soliloquy she would say nwa’m o, oh
Mobim, it is well, you will be fine. But of course, Chimaobi could not hear her. On
their way home, Chimaobi complained to his mum “I was shouting your name and
crying for help but you couldn’t come, you didn’t even bother-you were just silent.”

My dear brothers and sister let me ask us this question; “technically, was his
mother silent?” Of course not. This brings me to the theme of my reflection- WHEN
GOD SEEMS SILENT and our text would be taken from Daniel 10:12-14

In this passage, we see how an angel from God visited Daniel in a vision to
reveal to him what would happen in the final days. However, the word of God told us
that Daniel had been waiting in prayers and fasting for an answered prayers but the
angel sent to deliver the message was held by a demon-The prince of Persia for
twenty one solid days. Nobody will hijack our prayers in Jesus name. Amen.

Dearly beloved, God is never silent, He always grant answers to our prayers, it
is either it is being held like in the case of Daniel or that we are unable to discern the
answer God has given to us. In this way He seems silent to us. Many at times, we
want God to answer our prayers the way we want and not according to His will, this is
the reason why we do not see the blessing and answered prayer He gives to us. I
would love us to know that God answers every prayer and I will explain these in four
ways.

 First, He answers ‘Yes,’ I will, grant you your request

 Secondly, He answers ‘No,’ I will not give you this my child, it will ruin
you or prevent you from the glory in store for you
 Thirdly, He answers ‘Not yet,’ I will give you this but you are not ready
and now is not the right time
 The forth way is one which is hardly spoken about and where we think
God is silent. Here, God answers ‘I will give you something better.’
Many of us asks “Oh God, just give me 45% let me pass this course; but
God gives us an ‘A’ or God just give me fish; but he gives us a chicken.
These are blessings in disguise that we like Chimobi in the story could
not hear that his mother was listening and speaking to him.

CONCLUSION

Beloved, the song we sang explains that God is God in all situations; He is the
one who is always there. He is never silent. It is my prayer that we will be able to
discern the answers God give to us and always be aware of his voice through Christ
our Lord. Amen

Pause. (few seconds)

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit… As it was in the
beginning, it is now and ever shall be, world without end Amen.
