It is a suspense and thriller oriented story that tells the story of Edie, Jake and Ryan
who have been great friends since they were children. Edie ended up married to
Jake, and even so, Ryan always stood by them both. However, now Jake has just
been killed and everything threatens to come crashing down. His marriage with Edie
was not at its best and Ryan is the one who was next to his body when the police
found him, which leads us to have many questions. Did they finish him off? Is Edie
hiding something? Was Ryan a third wheel in the relationship between Jake and
Edie? These questions are not bad, but it is difficult for her to feel real interest in
them.

There is not a good introduction of the characters. They were friends and Edie took
Jake, that's it, there are no scenes that help us understand the link between them or
if there was something that was disturbing them. Jake is the great unknown, because
the little we know about him is thanks to small comments made by others. Ryan isn't
overly involved either, when he appears he maintains a distant attitude and seems
to be defensive all the time. For her part, Edie is the main protagonist, but she is as
if she had contained emotions, since she lets herself be carried away and does not
transmit her pain or her appearance due to the events that are taking place.
Therefore, we neither know them well at the beginning nor do we see them evolve.

The first half of the reading generates sheer indifference. Edie is like a spectator of
her own life and she doesn't seem to be very intrigued by her husband's crime. In
the second half is when there is a slight comeback, but not because the characters
become fascinating, rather it is that more events take place and that makes it easy
to turn the pages with more enthusiasm. As a certain key fact of the plot is revealed,
it is not difficult to guess several what will happen next. I believe that this issue could
have been played with more and given the importance it deserved in order to
condemn the actions that some characters carried out. Regarding the end, although
it was not bad, it was too abrupt. There is no time to process what happened.

However, there are moral issues that are raised very briefly that I feel if treated in
the right way would have added a lot to the story and generated more connection
with the reader, making us wonder: what would I do in that situation?
