struggled from day one
to exhibit any interest in

conversations I had with

very low self-esteem
with regard to her math
abilities, and this was
leading her to refuse to
put in any effort since
she believed it was futile.

I always strive to remain professional, ethical and respectful. That includes creating
a classroom environment free of intellectual, emotional or physical dangers,
modeling appropriate behaviors both in the classroom and on the yard, and taking
responsibility for student learning while simultaneously encouraging students to
take responsibility for their own success. I am aware of my role as a mandated
reporter and, although I have not come across a situation where I suspected child
abuse or neglect, I remain aware of my responsibility and would report it if I
