Power of prime minister in Pakistan

Executive powers
The prime minister lead executive. he is also called the head of government.
 Head of cabinet
Prime minster is the head of cabinet.
 appoints minsters
prime minster appoints cabinet ministers.
Appointment powers
The important appointments are appointed by PM. such as he appoints:
 chairman PIA
 chairman PCB
 governor state bank
 DG FIA
 Attoreny general of Pakistan
Assemblies dissolve power
Prime minister has assembly dissolving power. cabinet also dissolved if NA dissolved.

Military powers
PM appoints all service chief to make defence policies.

Foreign policies powers


Prime minister host the foreign investors.PM implement the foreign policeies.

Aid and advice to president


The prime minster aid and advice to president in the exercise of his function.

Annoncement of major government policies


Prime minster has the duty to announce the major government policies.

Conclusion
President is basically ceremonial head of state, whereas prime minster in truly words run the
executive. president and prime minster both has to consult each other and work together, but
after 18th amendment the power of president was limited, and president cannot take some
steps specifically on his own but with the advice of PM.PM also has to be in connection with
president for cabinet affairs, foreign affairs and other matters.
