AWR and Hope Channel Conducted Adventist Broadcasters Conference

Adventist World Radio (AWR) and Hope Radio South Philippines joined efforts
for the conduct of Broadcasters’ Conference at the South Philippine Conference
Hall on November 9-10, 2022 purposely to strengthen the operation of the 26
identified Adventist radio stations in Mindanao.
AWR as the broadcasting arm of the General Conference operates 1800
frequencies and broadcast stations in the whole world and aims to make Hope
Radio South Philippines an official affiliate of AWR to unify and strengthen its
resources and strategies to lift up the message of salvation through the airwaves.
Dubbed as “Conquering the Airwaves: Christ’s the Limit”, it was attended by all
communication and media directors, station managers, broadcasters and radio
technical staff from Zamboanga Peninsula Mission; Western Mindanao
Conference; North Central Mindanao Conference; Davao Mission; Northeastern
Mindanao Conference and two younger regional offices namely, Central Mindanao
Mission and Northern Davao Mission under the leadership of Pastor Roxy Pido,
Communication Director of the Mindanao-wide headquarter, South Philippine
Union Conference.
Gracing the conference with their informative and inspiring messages were Ptr
Timothy Saxton, AWR Director, Ptr Roseller Zamora, AWR Project Coordinator,
Ptr Robert Dulay, AWR Associate Director and Ptr Mamerto Guingguing,
outgoing Communication Director, all from the Southern Asia Pacific Division
(SSD), with Sir Rhoen Shane P. Catolico, Davao Mission Communication
Director, Mr. Johnster Jon Calibod, Manager of Hope Channel South Philippines,
as lecturers.
Also present was Ptr Heshbon Buscato, the newly elected Communication Director
of SSD; Ptr Sonny Situmorang, Communication and AWR Director of West
Indonesia Union Mission; and, Ptr Ashir Illyas Khan, Executive Secretary and
Communication Director of Pakistan Union Section, who discussed the
development of evangelism in their country with the use of radio ministry.
Ptr Dulay made testimonies about the conversion of dozens of rebel soldiers in the
mountains of Luzon, after hearing the Adventist message through the radio, were
baptized and regained their loyalty to the government as well. Hope Radio Davao
team pledged the distribution of recorded Adventist drama clips to be used by all
stations for free while AWR astounding
