what to expect
At SN Battle Reports, one of the things we find most important is having the best-looking tables and scenery
available. This is also a priority for all our events and that includes the GT! Games will be played over a range
of tables which will feature unique battlefields comprised of the best quality terrain as seen in our battle
reports. The top 10 tables at the event will feature competitive terrain, examples can be seen below in the
terrain section.

1
army composition
Unless otherwise stated below, you must follow the rules and restrictions found in the Chapter Approved
Warzone Arks of Omen: Grand Tournament mission pack for building your army roster. These rules are subject to
change.

<General Rules>
• Army is to be comprised of 1750 points or less (It is still considered to be a Strike Force sized army).
• Armies of Renown may not be taken.
• “The rule of 3” will not be in use, instead you may only bring a maximum of 2 of each datasheet. Troops and
Dedicated transports are exempt from this.
• You may only bring a maximum of 5 troops choices, and 5 dedicated transports.
• You may only use the core Stratagems, plus 5 of your choosing from your codex. These 5 must be listed on
your army list. (Stratagems used at the list building stage do not count towards this limit, such as ones for
extra relics or warlord traits etc)
• Must be battle forged
• All models must painted to a battle ready level, as seen here
• Army must be WYSIWYG. However, certain non-visible upgrades (e.g. various Character wargear, grenades,
etc) are allowed some leniency. If you have made any conversion work and are unsure to whether they will
be legal, just contact us beforehand at team@snbattlereports.com
• Armies painted in any specific chapter/regiment/hive world/etc schemes must use the rules associated to
them
• (e.g. An army painted as Ultramarines cannot use any chapter trait besides those for Ultramarines, or claim
they are successors and use Successor traits)
• Fortification Network detachment and fortifications are not allowed.
• May not include index or legendary units (Forge World units are allowed unless they are also legendary).
• You must list the following items in your army list:
▪ Your Warlord and Warlord Traits, and all relics
▪ Any pregame stratagems that effect your army list (Extra Warlord Traits, Relics, etc) (The Shadow
Assignment stratagem is exempt from this rule)
▪ All psychic powers

2
army & detachment rules
Gibraltar GT rules that there can be no external codex "Soup" but internal codex "Soup" is allowed but as per
the GT Arks of Omen book, where only one of each type of unique <faction> keyword can be included.

For example - Drukhari can use one <Kabal>, one <Wych Cult> and one <Coven>. This is allowed because these
"subfac-tions" are included within the same codex.

For clarity however you may not include two of the same subfaction keyword, for example two separate
space marine <Chapter>, two separate Grey Knight <Brotherhoods>. As they have the same bracketed keyword.
Contra-ry to the Arks of Omen Grand Tournament pack named characters with a faction keyword not defined
by <> are still locked to that subfaction, (This includes supreme commanders) and can't be used by any other
subfactions within that codex. For example, The Silent King cannot lead a Mephrit army.
An example of external codex soup which as stated is not allowed is Chaos Space Marines <Legion> and
Chaos Knights <Questor Traitoris> in the same army list.

The exceptions to this are:

• Imperium
▪ May contain a detachment solely comprised of units with the faction keyword “Inquisition”.
▪ May contain a detachment solely comprised of units with the faction keyword “Officio Assassinorum”
as per the Execution Force rules found in Psychic Awakening.
▪ A single Agent of the Imperium (Assassin, Inquisition, Rogue Trader) unit can be included in each
Imperium Patrol, Battalion and Brigade detachment as per the rules found in Warzone Octarius –
Critical Mass

• Codex Aeldari
▪ For the purposes of the above restrictions, Craftworlds, Harlequins and Drukhari are considered to be
separate factions

LIST SUBMISSION
Army lists must be submitted on the 16th April 2023 by midnight. All lists must be produced using either Battle-
scribe or the Warhammer Official App and uploaded to the BCP app. If using Battlescribe, please update your data
repository on the 16th April prior to sending us your list. Any codex released after the 16th April will not be
allowed in this event.

We aim to have the army lists released on the 23rd April 2023.
Pairings will be done after registration, once everybody has checked in.

TERRAIN
As can be seen in our battle reports, we use a lot of scenery on our tables. Please bear that in mind when writing
rules, as super heavies could struggle to move around the board.

Terrain may be moved pre-game as long as both players agree, so that you may place objectives, block/provide
lines of fire, or any other reason. If both players cannot agree on how to move the terrain, please call a TO over
to help

WHAT TO BRING
• Fully painted and based army (must be uniform)
• Any items needed to play the game - dice, tape measure, rulebooks & codexes (digital is fine), data cards (if
required), chess clock/app if you wish to use one at any point during the weekend
• 6 objectives markers

SCORING
• All game scores will be recorded on the BCP app during the event. The event rankings are sorted by: Number
of wins (a draw is worth 0.5 of a win), Path to Victory, battle points, Wins SoS, Battle Points SoS.

• All games will be scored out of 100 points (45 points for primary, 45 points for secondaries, 10 points for
fully painted).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Any rulebooks, cards or codex used at the event must be in English. The official language to be spoken during the
games must also be English.

Please read and follow the ITC Code of Conduct during the event, found here.

Chess clocks must be used if one player requests to use one. If you are the player requesting to use one, then you
must be able to provide the clock to use, either a physical clock, or an app. Guidance on how to use them can
be found here.

Games must be played out until the timer ends, unless either one player concedes, or you finish turn 5. Players
are not
allowed to “talk out” the remaining turns of the game, scoring points for battle rounds of which they did not
reach. If one player concedes, they remove their remaining models (counting them as destroyed), score 0 points,
and the opponent can continue to score any points he can for the remainder of the game.

The Round Timer will be set for 3 hours. Once there is less than 10 minutes left on the timer, no new battle
rounds may be started.

Drinks, snacks and meals will be available on site.

No outside food or drink may be consumed on the premises.
