to disastrous end.

Hero and villain ultimately die, known as tragic waste.
5) Conflict:
Internal: The hero faces conflict in their mind.
External: The hero faces conflict from his antagonist.
6) The Supernatural:
Superstitious beliefs come to play in some of Shakespeare’s tragic plays. Ghost form part of
the plot in Julius Caesar, Hamlet and Macbeth.
7) Catharsis:
Audience immersion leads to an emotional rollercoaster, with mixed feelings for the hero
and their antagonist.
8) Lack of poetic Justice:
When both good and evil characters experience justice.
9) Comic relief:
One or more humorous characters who participate in scenes intended to lighten the mood.
