Summer Students' Visiting Programme (SSVP)-2023

Institute of Physics (IoP), Bhubaneswar, an Autonomous research institute of

the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, offers an opportunity
to bright students to work in exciting research areas in Theoretical and
Experimental Physics during summer every year under the Summer
Students' Visiting Programme (SSVP).

Applications are invited for the SSVP-2023 to be held at IoP from May 08 -
June 17, 2023. The selected participants will work on a specific project in
association with faculty members of the Institute. At the end of the program,
each student will present a short seminar and submit a report on the project
carried out. Selected candidates are also encouraged to participate in other
academic events of the Institute. Merit-based selected candidates will be paid
honorarium @Rs. 6000/- per month and free on-campus accommodation along
with sleeper class train / bus fare (to and fro) and local conveyance from the
present university/institution.

Eligibility: Preferably those who will complete their 2-yr. M. Sc. / Integrated M.
Sc. in 2024, i.e., those who, by summer of 2023, are completing 1st year of 2-
year M.Sc. or 4th year of 5-year Integrated M. Sc. Course.

Deadline for online application: April 07, 2023

List of selected students will be announced on April 21, 2023

Applications should be in the form of (i) CV and (ii) Choice of research area
(choose only ONE out of Condensed Matter Physics (Theory), Condensed
Matter Physics (Expt.), High Energy Physics (Theory), High Energy Physics
(Experiment), Nuclear Physics (Theory), String Theory, and Quantum
Information)
