The process of Tweety: Essay 2 Draft 1

The tweety embroidery craft was a three-day process where there was the initiative made

to start a project with visual factors. There was a decision made to choose a small onesie newborn

to 3-month-old size. There was a picture chosen from google on the different versions of the

cartoon called “Tweety” only one seemed simple enough to trace. The tracing was done with a

pencil to create the outline of the image onto the onesie. After noting down that the tracing was

done correctly and the “Tweety” was symmetrical; then the next section of the tweety was traced

such as the facial features. In order for “Tweety” to look the same as the “Tweety” in the image

many visual factors where taken into consideration such as the colors chosen, the size of those

objects and, how the size of those objects help the embroidery design look like “Tweety”

The center of the image of the “Tweety” is the area where the main focus is drawn to due

to the contrast in tones of blue. This center contains the head as well as the area where the eyes

and beak are placed. One reason why the attention may be towards the center is due to the eyes.

The eyes of the “Tweety” have three different set of blue tones which gives some personality to

the cartoon. The outer layer of the eye is light- dark blue color which may give the idea that this

may be the last color used. The center color is much lighter tone of blue this can be seen as the

color that helps separate the light- dark blue, from the darkest blue which is the pupil of the

“Tweety” eye. Another reason why the eyes may be the focal point is because most of the “Tweety

image is one single color. The “Tweety” body is mostly all bright yellow and there isn’t any

contrast since the same color seems to have been used throughout the entire head to bottom except

the feet. The “Tweety” seems to have contrast in the bottom area since the feet are the color orange.

The eyelashes are a strong dark black which stands out from the yellow and blue tones much more

than the other colors. The dark black lines on the top of the “Tweety” head give the idea that those

are the cartoons hair. The hair of the “Tweety” seem to be leaning towards one side as the image

is seen from right to left.

The contrast with “Tweety” lower body and, feet give the visual sense that the feet are

wider and, chubby than the body; that “Tweety” seems to be skinnier in the lower bottom part with

a much bigger head on the top area of the body. The head of “Tweety” gives the visual perspective

that the beak is almost like a dot centered in the middle between both eyes of the cartoon. The beak

of “Tweety” seems to be a lot smaller in the eye perception due to the eyes being medium size.

The eyelashes seem to be longer due to how close they are to the top of the head considering the

eyes are in the center. The beak seems almost like a dot giving the “Tweety” the cartoon

resemblance. The dot of the beak seems very small helping to give the “Tweety cartoon” the

chubby cheeks on both sides of its head. The feet look big yet, not as big as the head of the

“Tweety” due to the head being larger vertically. The feet of the “Tweety” seem to be larger

because the feet have more length horizontally.

“Tweety” needed to have these different features so that if a person who hasn’t seen the

embroidery craft where to see it, they can easily point out that the design is more likely to be the

cartoon “Tweety”. “Tweety” needed to look like a bird yet, unrealistic keeping the cartoon concept

there. The “Tweety” cartoon found in google images has the characteristics of big eyes and small

pupils. The eyelashes are long in length going upwards to the top of the head. The beak is much

smaller than all of the other features that the “Tweety” has. If the “Tweety” beak was medium size

the cartoon would resemble a cartoon canary rather than a specific cartoon. The “Tweety” feet are

big and chubbier than the body. The “Tweety” feet cannot be skinnier or much bigger this will

cause the cartoon to seem abnormal to the viewer’s eye. This abnormality may cause the thought

that this isn’t actually “Tweety” the cartoon. The other visual problem that the abnormality may

give is that “Tweety” has inaccuracy in the terms of size. All the characteristics from head to feet

play a unique role in helping the viewers eyes perceive the embroidery craft as “Tweety”

eliminating all other possibilities that may arise; when the characteristics are not portrayed in the

image.
