BILATERAL ADRENAL MASS IN AN UNCONTROLLED DIABETES

MELLITUS PATIENT
ABSTRACT :
Introduction:Bilateral adrenal mass due to various etiologies may
occur in immunocompromised patient. Among them, cryptococcosis
is a rare cause.
Case: We present a case of 45 year old gentleman with uncontrolled
diabetes mellitus Type 2, presented with significant weight loss,
fatigue and abdominal mass for 6 months. CECT abdomen shows B/L
bulky adrenal gland with multiple ring enhancing lesion with
hepatosplenomegaly suspecting tuberculosis or malignancy.
Histopathological examination confirmed it as adrenal
cryptococcosis.
Conclusion:Cryptococcosis may be a cause of primary adrenal
insufficiency in immunocompromised individuals.
