Prior learning related to this lesson: The students know Simple Present, Present Continuous,
Simple Past and Simple Future tenses.

Learning Objectives:
By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:
use the structure of the Present Perfect Tense,
make the sentences interrogative and negative,
identify the auxiliary verb of Present Perfect.

Purpose of the lesson: to develop using the target verb tense in their oral and written speech
through the activities planned for the lesson.

Materials: worksheets, a computer, projector, books, copybooks, pens.

1.Greetings
2. Organizational work (2 min)
3. Warm up: Remember the tenses by matching sentences with the tenses. One of the tenses is
unknown. (3 min)
4. New material: explanation of the new material (The Present Perfect Tense) comparing it with
other tenses. Use the text-book (15 min).
5. Practice the tense: song/exercise “Brighton in the rain”. (10 min)
a) The Ss should fill in the gaps with the Present Perfect structure.
b) Then they should check the assignment with the peers (pare /share) (first two then four Ss )
c) Listen to the song and check.
5. Watch the cartoon with the assignment (multiple choice) (5 min)
6. Do exercise. (LearningApps)
