3.1 Actividades de reflexión inicial

A. Almost finishing the classes’ stage of your technical program, surely now you are very
knowledgeable in preparing different kinds of dishes and food. Select two dishes you now
are able to prepare, one from confectionery and the other is a savory main course. Present
their corresponding images and a brief description of each one of them (what is it, where is
it from, what does it look like, what does it include).

ORIGINAL ITALIAN LASAGNA

-Italy

-A dish prepared with sheets of Italian pasta about 10

centimeters wide, alternating with layers of various
minced meat; the last layer of pasta is usually covered

B. Do you know any dish from the Hungarian gastronomic tradition? If your answer is “no”, it is
possible that you are wrong. There are many dishes that we consider are part of our tradition,
but they originated elsewhere. Read the following description and guess the name of this
Hungarian dish that many Colombians often eat.

“It is a stew of meat and vegetables (for example, peas, carrots, and others), seasoned with
paprika and other spices. You can also add potatoes or other root vegetables. “

What’s the name of this dish? STEAK MEAT

A. Cheese Blintzes
“Blintzes” are another Hungarian dish that is very popular in the US but it is not so familiar
for us in Colombia. Take a look at the picture and write a short description of what do
they look like.

Go to https://www.thespruceeats.com/jewish-cheese-blintzes-recipe-1136318 and, with

the information in the website (text and video), design a process graph with the essential
steps in the preparation process for them.

R/ Rich, creamy dairy-based filling wrapped in delicate crêpes: that's cheese blintzes. It is based
on sweetened cream cheese, slightly runny when baked; and a firmer, less sweet and more
traditional filling, which can be of choice.

sure your evidence will fulfill all the necessary requirements for its approval:
1) Select 2 interesting and delicious dishes, one from the Colombian gastronomical
tradition and another from a different one (Peruvian food, Thai food, French food,
etc.)
2) Write a text in two paragraphs for each dish. In the first paragraph, describe the dish
(where is it from, ingredients, traditional side dishes, description). In the second, write
a step-by-step set of instructions using the imperative. Pay special attention to the
cooking procedures (cooking verbs) you use.
3) Add an appealing photo/image for each recipe.
4) Use a visually appealing template to present your two (2) cards. You can paste them
here or add a link for the instructor to check your cards.
