Nouns

Зат есімнің көпше түрі – s жалғауы

жалғану арқылы жасалады:
a pen – pens,

a bag – bags,

a pupil – pupils.
 Зат есімнің жекеше түрі, түбірі -
ch, - s, - es, - sh, -x-ке және о- ға аяқталса
– es жалғауы жалғанады:
a box –boxes , a bus – buses

a hero- heroes ,

a match – matches.
a dress – dresses,
 Зат есім дауыссыз дыбыстан кейін У- ға
аяқталса, - іеs жалғауы жалғанады.

Мысалы:
a city- cities,

a baby – babies.
 Зат есім F( - fe ) - ve аяқталса көпше
түрінде f - v - ге өзгеріп - es жалғанады.

Ex: a knife – knives,

a shelf – shelves,

a leaf – leaves.
 Зат есімнің көпше түрінің ерекшелігі сөз
түбіріндегі дауысты дыбыстар өзгереді.

Мысалы:
a woman – women,
a foot – feet,
a tooth – teeth,
a goose – geese,
a mouse – mice.
Cонымен қатар көпше түрінде -en жалғауы
жалғанатын сөздер бар.

An ox – oxen,

a child – children.
 Ағылшын тілінде жекеше түрінде және
көпше түрінде бірдей форма беретін сөздер
бар. Олар:
a deer – deer,

a sheep – sheep,

a fish – fish,

a swine – swine.
Бірнеше зат есімдер тек қана жекеше
немесе көпше түрінде ғана айтылады.

Мысалы:

money, hair, business, information, news,

love, peace, knowledge, advice, luggage,
sugar, fruit, progress, furniture.
 Ағылшын тілінде кейбір сөздер екі
бөліктен тұратындықтан көпше түрінде
айтылады.
Ex: trousers, glasses, scissors, shorts, ал
өздігінен тек қана көпше түрде айтылатын
сөздер бар.

Мысалы: goods, clothes, riches, thanks,

manners, looks.
Кейбір ағылшын тіліндегі зат есімдер тек
қана жекеше түрінде қолданылады:

News, progress, information, watch.

 Кейбір ұлттардың атауларының алдында
”the” артиклі қойылып және көптік
жалғауынсыз үнемі көпше түрде
қолданылады.

Мысалы: the Dutch, the English, the French,

the British, the Spanish, the Welsh.
