Critical Thinking Questions

1. Regulations differ for child-care facilities compared to family daycare

homes because Child care centers may be large or small but usually

divide children into groups by age, with different child care and early

education professionals to work with each group.

2. Requirements for preschools differ from those for other daycare facilities

because preschools generally cater to older kids and require their

students to be potty-trained.

3. Regulations have been put in force to help caregivers report child abuse

is that reporters to immediately make an oral report to DCF when, in their

professional capacity, they have reasonable cause to believe that a child

under the age of 18 is suffering from abuse or neglect. Mandated

reporters must also submit a written report to DCF within 48 hours.

4. you should handle a child telling you about abuse or neglect by just

listening and don’t assume anything. Don't put words in your child's mouth
or assume you know what he/she means or are going to say. Let your

child use language they are comfortable with. Let your child set the pace,

and don't rush them.

5. Some possible signs of emotional abuse and neglect are: They are Hyper-

Critical or Judgmental Towards You, They Ignore Boundaries or Invade

Your Privacy, They are Possessive and/or Controlling, They are

Manipulative, They Often Dismiss You and Your Feelings. You can tell if

someone is an abuser if they stop the violence right when you come near

someone. Or if someone comes by and they stop.
