1 Feed specifications

The specification of the feed that would be the input for our proposed system is as follows.

(i) Chlorine: 293 K, atmospheric pressure, 100 per cent purity.

(ii) Benzene: 293 K, atmospheric pressure, 99.95 wt per cent benzene, 0.05 wt per cent
water.

1.1.2 Product specifications

The specification of the product that must be derived at the end of the simulation is as shown
below.

(i) Monochlorobenzene: 99.7 wt per cent.

(ii) Dichlorobenzene: 99.6 wt per cent.
(iii) Hydrogen chloride gas: less than 250 ppm by weight benzene
