Introduction
Adolf Hitler was a German politician and
leader of the Nazi party. He rose to
power as chancellor in 1933 and became
dictator of Germany in 1934. Hitler's
aggressive foreign policies led to the
outbreak of World War II, and his
genocidal policies led to the deaths of
millions during the Holocaust.
Early Life
Adolf Hitler was born in Austria in
1889. He moved to Germany in 1913
and served in the German army
during World War I. Hitler was injured
during the war and was awarded the
Iron Cross for bravery. After the war,
he joined the German Workers' Party,
which later became the Nazi party.
Rise to Power
In 1933, Hitler was appointed chancellor of
Germany and quickly consolidated his
power. He suspended civil liberties and
established a dictatorship. Hitler's
aggressive foreign policies led to the
annexation of Austria and the invasion of
Poland, which sparked the outbreak of
World War II.
