Directions: Using the sample application letter on the next page, do or answer
the following instructions or questions.
1. Label the elements of the sample application letter.

2. What kind of source of information is the job vacancy?


• Universities and educational institutions are good places to find applicants. A
placement office typically handles college recruiting.

3. Aside from the application letter, what other document/s can be found from the
application folder of the applicant?
• Resume, Cover Letter, Certification, education and experience and lastly was
his availability.

4. What other documents can be attached for this application folder?

• Other documents can be attached as well to the letter of application included


in this application folder are a résumé or CV, and academic records, and Certifications,
letter of recommendation or a reference, a resume, a cover letter, and any other files
the employer may need to submit your application. Additional documents may be
required depending on the position and the employer’s specifications. A writing sample
or portfolio of work examples, for instance, could also be added.

5. What is missing for this application letter?


• Beneath his name on the application, the applicant’s signature must be
submitted. The application letter is complete except for a request for a letter of
recommendation to the institution and any other papers needed for the position.

6. Do you think the applicant can be considered for the teaching post?

• Yes, it appears that the applicant has an excellent work ethic based on the
details that are provided. English academic background and completion of a
Certificate of Teaching program, which would probably give him some fundamental
information and teaching abilities. Furthermore, the fact that he is in the running
for a Master of Arts in Teaching English indicates a commitment to expanding one’s
knowledge in this field. Overall, it appears like the applicant would be a strong
contender for a teaching post, particularly in the field of English, based purely on
the information provided. However, it’s important to note that there may be other
factors to consider, such as their teaching experience, teaching philosophy, and
interpersonal skills, that could be relevant to the hiring decision.
