Full Marks : +4 If only (all) the correct option(s) is (are) chosen;
Partial Marks : +3 If all the four options are correct but ONLY three options are chosen;

16. A radioactive source in the form of a metal sphere of diameter 10-3 m emits (in μS )
particles at a constant rate of 6.25 × 1010 particles per second. If the source is
electrically insulated, how long (in seconds) will it take for its potential to rise by 1.0 volt,
assuming that 80% of emitted particles escape from the surface. (write your answer in

24. A and B are two volatile liquids, two cotton plugs, one soaked with ‘A’ and the other is
soaked with ‘B’ , are simultaneously placed at the ends of the tube of length 24cm, as
