databases, CAP theorem, Communication client server model -remote procedure call - group
communication.

UNIT – II
Synchronization: Clock synchronization - mutual exclusion - election atomic transactions - dead
locks. Process and Processors: Threads - System models processor allocation - scheduling fault
tolerance

UNIT – III
Real time distributed systems, Distributed file systems: File system design and implementation -
trends in distributed file systems.

UNIT - IV
Cloud Computing : Defining Cloud Computing, Components of Cloud Computing, Service
Oriented Architecture (SOA), Benefits and drawbacks of Cloud Computing.

UNIT - V
Cloud Programming and Software Environments: features of cloud platforms, parallel and
distributed programming paradigms, programming support of Google App engine

Amazon Web Services programming, Microsoft Azure programming Support, emerging Cloud
Software environments.
