Reflection

Over the course of this semester, we have learned many things that will help me and guide me

throughout my life and my careers. Composing for academic discourse was a learning thing. You

used critical thinking, reflection, and participation. These were all the aspects you looked at

when composing in the academic world either if its writing or reading. We have had to learn

how to give other peers feedback in positive ways about their writings. This really helped me a

lot because another student is just like you and seeing their thoughts is really motivating and

helpful before you turn something in because their little feedback could help your grade, and it

might just be something so little as to which you looked over. The next thing we learned how to

do was compose for public discourse, which was a harder topic than the usual to me. We had to

compose a press release, a candidate blog post, and we made our own graphic designs which

was fun. The next thing we did was learn rhetorical strategies and learn how to pick them out of

each sentence and label what each of them were. This class was very helpful in so many ways. It

has prepared my writing and speaking in ways that will make me more professional in the

workspace.
