Scenario 1: Grille Modelling, Crop Sowing

Supervisor:

To complete this mathematical model, I first filled out as

many circles as I could to fill the 20x20 field. The circles
were at the 4-metre mark, the 7-metre mark, 10 metre
mark. My process was to look and think about the
question asked and apply mathematical reasoning to the
question. I applied this by using my knowledge of
concentric circles. The knowledge of concentric circles is
used by applying it to the model making these three
circles possible. This model is quite accurate as it can tell
the viewer the sizes of the circles quite easily and the
math applied is not hard at all. This shows that businesses
that would need to use graphs like this e.g., farming
businesses, design, and engineering businesses, could easily use them to map circles for designing or
for real life purposes.

Math equation for maximum circumference: Client: These circles help to assist machine seed
2 rπ =circumfrence Sowers with how much the maximum they can sow
2(4) π = 25.13274123 in a 20x20m field. In real-life context this can be
2(7) π = 45.98229715 applied to many farmers and can be extremely
2(10) π = 62.83185307 accurate in real life as you could apply this to a real-
25.13274123 + 45.98229715 = 71.11503838 life farm. The product which is the maximum
71.11503838 + 62.83185307 = 133.94689145 circumference of all these three circles combined
can tell us how efficient and cost efficient this
model can be for the farmer and the field he is
using. You can also base this off the distance it covers between each maximum circumference.

Pros: The Pros of this model is the simplicity of it, the information and data can be easily taken away
from it by the viewer

Cons: The Con of this model is that extra information isn’t really provided on it, e.g., you would have
to apply mathematics to find the circumference (which isn’t too hard) however may be for the
viewer.
Scenario 2: Grille Modelling, Boom or Bust

Supervisor: This model was created to help assist the lamp sellers with the most amount of profit
that they could make. Many businesses could use this model to sell items/commodities. It is good for
these types of businesses as over a period they can tell how much they should make to make the
best average profit and the best amount to meet the average demand. The knowledge that was
applied onto this parabola is the knowledge of using demos (graphing calculator), the knowledge of
parabolas and applying the turning point form to make the parabola.

Supervisor:

Mathematical Equation for the parabola:

Client:

This model is to show the most profit the lamp seller can make in one day. This model can tell you
about the most profit for the lamp seller by using turning point form to determine the best profit. As
when you use the formula the vertex is the most profit. However, this model has an outlier as it did
not match the trend of the other products with their profits with lamp numbers. This outlier could
be due to previous lamps being made on other days and being re-sold on this day or they had less
people at their store to sell the lamps. It could also be an argument of the best demand as well as
profit and on that day when they made 86 lamps there was not the demand for that amount of
lamps, so they made close to no profit.

Pros: The Pro of this model is that it is quite easy to take away the information easily by just looking
at it. It is also quite easy to plot he data to make this model effective for the viewer.

Cons: The Con of this model is the fact that it is an estimate, and it would be near impossible to get it
exact to the position you want. It will also normally have a few outliers depending on how many
points you are graphing.
Part 3: Grille Modelling Business Pitch

The effect of age on a Mazda m3 2016 – 2023: The Data is in the table on the top left, the data has
been rounded from $23,430 to 23.43.

Supervisor: This model was made using the mathematical

equation for an exponential graph. The maths applied can help tell
people the effect of age on their car. The model can be applied to
many different products by suing the same mathematical
equations on a graphing calculator. This model can benefit
different companies when looking at data and investing. This
model however does have two outliers and whenever you apply
this to any cars, they will have outliers. These outliers are due to
demand or major price drops that could have happened within
those years. The prices may
heighten if there is an economical heighten and the prices of the
car parts will go up. These heightened prices will have
higher demand so it can lead to it being higher than the trend of
prices. It can also go down as economical struggles in the
countries factories, where the cars are being made can have an
economical decline, leading to lowered prices. So, this is a good
model to find a trend for the cars trends however it cannot find it
exactly the best times to buy the cars.

Supervisor:

Mathematical Equation for the model (exponential graph):

Y = ab^x
Client: The main aspects of this model are to tell the exponential fall of Mazda3
Y = 35 x 0.847^x
car prices from the year 2016-2023. This is done by plotting it into a graphing the
years and prices into a graphing calculator and then using mathematical
reasoning to use the exponential equation. This can be used in many ways to find the average price
drops of cars over the years. To find the predicted prices of cars in the future and to see when the
best time would be to buy that car. It can be used for businesses in similar ways if their products
become cheaper over the years, then they can find a way to market that and advertise It to make
more profit on older issues of the product that they are selling e.g., cars.

Pros: The Pro of this model is it is easy to extract the information from it to have an estimation of
the data. It is also affective of showing the trend of the data and makes it easier for viewers to make
predictions of upcoming points using the trend.
Cons: The con of this model is that it is a little bit inaccurate due to the numbers of outliers there are
as for the prices of cars there can be lots of factors that influence it so they can easily waver on the
model.
