A COMPARATICE STUDY ON E-BANKING SERVICES PROVIDED BY

SBI AND HDFC IN PONDICHERRY

ABSTRACT
E-Banking has been the recent trend as it is easier to access to one’s account and there is no
need to visit the branch. But many people are not aware of E-Banking and there is some
degree of challenges attached to internet banking. So this study is conducted to compare the
knowledge, utilization and challenges faced by the customers of SBI and HDFC regarding the
E-banking services. The purpose of this study is to provide the banks suggestions on how to
improve their E-banking services.

OBJECTIVES
1. To compare the customers knowledge level towards e-banking services of HDFC and
SBI.
2. To study the utilization level of e-banking services among customers of HDFC and
SBI
3. To study the challenges faced by customers in utilizing e-banking services of HDFC
and SBI

METHODOLOGY

Primary data will be collected by issuing a questionnaire within the Pondicherry region
which contains questions regarding demographic profile of the respondent, awareness and
utilization of e-banking services, and challenges and problems in e-banking services.

In order to interpret the data various tools like correlation, mean, standard deviation and
independent t-test will be used.
