Power transformer: definition, capacity, voltage ratio, main parts, accessories, cooling system, meter and gauges, function and breather and conservator tank, tap changer, function and tap position, purpose of transformer oil, dielectric strength 0 foil, protection of a transformer. 3- Circuit breaker an isolator; definitions, difference between circuit breaker and isolator, types of circuit breakers according to quenching media, types of circuit breaker according to operating mechanism, gases and oil used in circuit breakers, function and advantages of oil and gas. 4. C.Ts and P-Ts function connection to circuit CT ratio and P.T ratio, 5- Meter, installed on I Ikv panel, control panel and AC / DC panel, multiplying factor and construction of meters. 6- _ Relays; functions installed on 1 1kv penal, relay penal and AC/DC penal, fault interpretation and indications, 7- Station batteries; function of battery and DC system in a Grid Station, types of battery, electrolyte level, total No. of cells, battery construction, battery connection, overcharging 8 Battery charger, function, meter and indication installed, charging current, boost and float charging with manual switch and automatically. 9 Annunciator block and hooter / alarm, function on control panel 11kv panel and battery charger. Fire fighting equipments; types, method of use, chemical filled in equipments, use according to type of fire, expiry and refilling, effectiveness and proper handling 13. Earthing; importance for equipments, for human safety, earth mesh installed at Grid Station, concoction with equipments, type and size of earth conductor, permissible value of earth resistance 14- Cables; types, parts, size, installation and capacities. 15- Records; daily log sheet, register maintained in Grid Station, permit to work (PTW) procedures, preparation of monthily returns, calculation of percentage losses of L1kv bus bar and T&T losses, import and export meters reading and multiplying factor. 16- What to do incase emergency and fire, daily check sheet for inspection of Grid Station. 17- Safety and first ad. 18- Monitoring of annual maintenance of equipment installed in the Grid Station. Proper use of portable temporary grounding. Study of CT, PT lightening arrestor, capacitor bank and bus bar. Study of wiring and schematic drawings. Study of internal and external parts of transformer. Maintenance of Circuit Breaker, batteries, rectifier and power cable. Dehydration process of transformer oil and changing filter of dehydration plant. Maintenance and testing of transformer and tap changer Maintenance of station batteries according to the schedule TAT required for maintenance of cable. Proper use of Testing Instruments.
