Kurt: Good morning, everyone! So now we will talk about the rules in badminton.

The first rule is (read

the power point) so in every game needs a score of 21 points. No. 2 (read the power point) and a
badminton can be played by pair or 1v1. Rule no. 3 (read the power point) so in this rule we have
prepared a video so you can understand it.

Kurt: As you can see there, they have tied in 21 points, so the first that will score 2 points will win the
match. Rule no. 4, (read the power point) for example you won in the first game, then you will be the
one who will serve in the second game. No. 5 (read the power point).

Kurt: Next rule no. 6, at the start of the rally, the server and receiver stand in diagonally opposite service
courts. They should stand in diagonally to be a legal serve. Rule no. 7, (read the power point) so they
should follow this rule to be a legal serve. Next rule is (read the power point) the shuttlecock should be
inside the line, if not you will lose the point, and the point will go to the opponent.

Quinn: Now lets move on to rule no. 9, (read the power point). No. 10, (read the power point) so you
should stay in your position and keep your feet on the ground, if so, that is a fault. Rule 11, (read the
power point).

Quinn: Next, a player cannot hold his/her racket near the net toward off a downward stroke by his/her
opponent or to interfere with his/her racket. Rule no. 13, (read the power point).

Quinn: Rule 14, (read the power point). No. 15 (read the power point) they should not distract their
opponent. Lastly rule no. 16, a player is not able to hit the shuttlecock twice, if they hit it twice that is a
fault.

Zane: Now let me show you the faults in badminton. First, the shuttle, at the instant of being hit is
higher than the server’s waist or the head of the racket is higher than the server’s hand, is a fault. Next
is (read the power point). 3rd is when the server’s feet are not in the service court or the feet of the
receiver are not in the court diagonally opposite the server. So, this is what we are talking about in the
rule no. 6 that when this happen it is a fault.

Zane: The next is (read the power point) that’s why we need to keep our feet on the ground. (read the
power point). Lastly a player touching the net or its supports with his/her body mor the racket while the
shuttle is in play. We have a video sample of one of the faults so watch.

Zane: So, as you can see the shuttlecock lands outside the line, when this happen the point will go to
your opponent.

Zane: Now what are the interval and chance of ends? No. 1, a 1 minute interval between each game is
allowed. No. 2 (read the power point)

Quinn: And those are the rules that we need to follow and avoid so we can play a good game.

Kurt: Thank you! We all hope that you are playing by the rules of Badminton. (Bow)
