-The Wonderful Wizard of Oz-

Origin

Published in 1900, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is still as

present in the public imagination as in popular culture. It
emerged from the imagination of an American writer, merchant,
actor and filmmaker named Lyman Frank Baum. He was 44
years old when he wrote The City of Emeralds, as the work was
first called.

Baum wrote about the need for purer, non-violent children's

stories. The author's intention was to modernize fairy tales,
which at the time had a darker tone, such as the tales of the
Brothers Grimm and those of Hans Christian Andersen, and his
idea was to create something that would appeal to children of
that time - a story where nightmares and suffering were
replaced by enchantment and happiness.

original name / adaptation

The original name of the work is “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz”

or in Portuguese “O Maravilhoso Mágico de Oz”.

Being an adaptation of the fantasy musical film “The Wizard of

Oz” released in 1939, created by director Victor Fleming, it was

village boring and monotonous, we follow a third of a normal

Dorothy then hits her head on the window and wakes up in the
world of "Oz" thanks to the storm her house lands on top of a
witch who terrorized the place, killing her, after that the
witch's servants began to treat Dorothy as savior and she
discovers that to return home she would have to find "The
Wizard of Oz", and thus begins her journey back home.

On the way, the protagonist meets a scarecrow who wanted a

real brain because he was made of straw, a tin man who
wanted a heart to have feelings and a cowardly lion who
wanted courage, so they go together in search of the magician.

The main group arrives in the city of emeralds where the

magician is, he gives a condition to fulfill each one's wish: Kill
the evil witch of the west. Dorothy then, with no option, goes
after her goal going west and after a fight against the witch,
Dorothy throws water on her that melts and the protagonist
wins the witch's broom

Upon returning to the Emerald City, it is discovered that the

Wizard of Oz was a fake and had no powers, but the Good Witch
of the West arrives and tells Dorothy that she always had the
